State Representative

  • Two term member of the Minnesota House of Representatives representing District 18A (McLeod and Meeker Counties). As a State Representative served on the State Government Finance, Governmental Operations and Veterans Affairs, Education Finance, Public Safety and Finance, Transportation policy and Ethics Committees. During the 2005 legislative session, member of the Public Safety Omnibus Bill Conference Committee which spearheaded and passed a significant piece of legislation dealing with predatory offenders, control of methamphetamine production and the availability of DNA samples from individuals.
  • Recipient of Minnesota Society of Professional Surveyors 2004 legislator of the Year Award, Minnesota School Boards Association Guardian of Minnesota Public Schools Award 2004 and 2005, Taxpayers League of Minnesota Friend of the Taxpayers Award 2004, The Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation Friend of Agriculture Award 2003-2004 and NFIB/Minnesota Guardian of Small Business Award 2006.
